The Story Behind Linmieré

The Story Behind Linmieré

The Story Behind Linmieré

If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be pouring candles in my kitchen and selling them at markets, I’d probably have laughed. Linmieré started in the most unplanned way possible. I used to melt down old candles, just to see what new scents and colours I could come up with which became a bit of a calming ritual, something I did to relax at the end of the week.

Then one day, my husband bought me a candle-making kit. That’s when it all changed. I started making candles properly. I was mixing scents, learning about soy wax, and discovering how satisfying it was to create something from scratch. Before long, and with a little encouragement (aka threats) from friends and family, Linmieré was born.

I’m still quite nervous about putting my work out there, but also incredibly excited to see where this little hobby might lead. My hope is that each candle I make brings someone else the same sense of calm and comfort that making them brings me.

The Autumn Collection

It only made sense for my first collection to be inspired by autumn; my favourite time of year. The colours, the smells, the way the light feels a bit softer. I wanted to capture all of that in my first four scents.

Spiced Orange
This one surprised me the most; and it’s actually been my best seller. It’s warm, sweet, and just the right amount of spicy. It reminds me of orange slices studded with cloves, or the smell of baking when the oven door opens. It’s the kind of scent that makes your home feel instantly welcoming.

Pumpkin Spice
A classic for a reason. It’s cosy, familiar, and a little bit nostalgic. When I was testing this one, my kitchen smelt like freshly baked cake, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all the good stuff. It’s the perfect candle for slow afternoons and dark, rainy evenings.

Spiced Oak
This one feels more grounded and earthy. Sort of like a walk through the woods when the air’s cool and crisp. It has a slightly smoky edge to it that makes it feel grown up and calming. It’s definitely the most “quiet luxury” scent of the bunch.

Warm Woods
This scent feels like sitting by the fire with a blanket and a good book. It’s soft, smooth, and a little musky. There’s something very peaceful about it. Like that moment when you finally sit down after a long day.

Each one means something to me, and I poured them all by hand here on my dining table in Barnsley using soy wax and carefully chosen fragrance oils.

This launch has been a big learning curve and honestly a bit nerve-wracking, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported me, from helping me set up at markets to cheering me on from the sidelines.

I can’t wait to see where Linmieré goes from here, but for now, I’m just really proud of how far it’s come already.

If you’d like to keep up with what’s next and be the first to know about the next seasonal scents you can subscribe on the website or follow along on Instagram. I’d love to share more of this little journey with you.

With love,
